Raja's Story - Women for Women International

Raja has been intermittently displaced by conflict in Iraq since 2008. Since 2015, she has been raising her 5 children alone in a camp for internally displaced people in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.

This film was produced to accompany a research project carried out by Women for Women International www.womenforwomen.org.uk, LSE Centre for Women, Peace http://www.lse.ac.uk/women-peace-secu... and Security and GAPS http://gaps-uk.org/

We are grateful for support from the Millby Foundation for enabling us to commission the research and films.

Read the full research report at: www.womenforwomen.org.uk/livelihoods-research. Film directed and produced by Emily Kinskey.

Human Trafficking in Conflict Zones:Georgetown Institute for Women, Peace & Security

Human trafficking is modern day slavery. It occurs around the world and is exacerbated by conflict, which increases demand for forced labor and sexual services and places refugees and IDPs in vulnerable situations. During human trafficking prevention month, we interviewed experts about trafficking and its particular effect on women in conflict.

EHF Peace Awards Ceremony 2016

On October 27th 2016, the El-Hibri Foundation held its tenth annual Peace Awards Ceremony to honor Namira Islam, Brie Loskota, and Eboo Patel – three individuals who have demonstrated courageous leadership in advancing inclusion, building capacity, and organizing communities for social change.

In a climate where fear and divisiveness are far too prominent in public discourse, their stories provide much-needed hope and inspiration for people of all backgrounds to celebrate the hard work of advocates for inclusion. These outstanding leaders are continuing to build community despite every attempt around them to divide, and are working to empower future generations of leaders.

The 30% Club story | Helena Morrissey | TEDxHultLondon

In 2010, Helena Morrissey and I founded the 30% Club, a cross-business initiative aimed at achieving 30% women on UK corporate boards by 2015 through voluntary, business-led change. This has now become an international approach, with 30% Clubs in the US, Hong Kong, Ireland and Southern Africa.
